Would filling a flag pole with expanding foam help prevent it from bending.?
It is to fill up a 3"gap. I want to put a 5×8 flag on the pole instead of a 3×5
The pole comes apart in 5 sections.

If you are thinking of urethane foam which has high adherence and structure, yes it would help. If it doesn’t set up and have structure, no help. (PS: I like Charles’s answer better than mine.)
It probably wont hurt, but how will you get that foam all the way down the flag pole? Don’t drill any holes, as this will weaken the entire pole.
I will assume a steel or Aluminum pole. Not much I’m afraid. Even filling it with concrete it will still bend some, not so much with concrete but you will still see it.
Edit: Thanks DL.
