"When the song is performed in public, the US National Anthem Code, adopted in 1942, specifies the etiquette rules for playing and responding to the song. The audience members are expected to face the American flag if one is displayed, and stand in an attitude of respectful attention. If the flag is not present, the audience faces the direction of the music and still stands in a respectful attention.

People in uniform, including military personnel, fire service and law enforcement officers, are expected to salute or "present arms" during the national anthem from the first note and hold the salute until the last note is played. People not in military or other uniforms are expected to remove their hats and place their right hands over their hearts."

A new state building has a round area of grass in front of the building that is surrounded by a driveway to the front door with three flag poles located on the grass in the middle of this yard. The poles are arraigned in a "U" shape or "V" shape manner. As you approach the building the center pole is closest to the street while the other two are set back a few yards. We would like to have the American, State and County Flags flying. What is the proper order to fly these flags?

Its been over 145 years since the civil war ended with the Union victorious and slavery was abolished. So why haven’t people gotten past that yet? I’m all for freedom of expression, but the confederate flag is just offensive.
"Because they can" is not a viable answer. Under that logic I can hang a nazi swatzika from my house!

Ok, this is a little personal but I’m really worried about this. I’m taking medication for a health condition, and it gives me the "runs" really badly. Those pills and potions meant to help with this just don’t work for me. But now I have to attend a golf tournament (I’m on the committee, so I have to go) and am worried about what will happen. I went to a 9-hole game earlier this month and just couldn’t make it through and ended up having to use the flag cup on the 7th (no one was around and I couldn’t just leave it lying around on the green) because I couldn’t make it to the trees in time. So my question is: if I have to use the cup again, should I try to cover it or put a sign up or something? Should I try to move the flag to another spot so no one puts their ball in the cup?

Okay, most people like to consider me a little to organized. But i just like to be prepared and have things to look back on when i have a question.
