How to properly display an American Flag (vertically)?
The stars belong in the upper left corner (to the viewer), however all too often people simply rotate it from horizontal to vertical without also turning it around. This results with the stars in the upper right corner… ugh! Makes me cringe!
However… Is there any reason I may be unaware of for displaying the flag vertically with the stars on the right? For example, during time of war or perhaps some other reason?
I don’t want to chastise someone for improperly displaying a flag if I’m unaware of some lesser-known protocol. Thx!

No. You’re right, they are wrong. The Union Jack (the blue field) should ALWAYS be in the upper left hand corner. Always.
